Miles for Moffitt is a family event that welcomes runners and walkers who are interested in getting a healthy dose of exercise while helping Moffitt carry on its mission to help prevent and cure cancer.
Participants can choose to participate in the 15K Challenge, 10K, 5K, 1-Mile Run/Walk, Wheelchair Race, Kids Dash or be a virtual runner, with 100 percent of all registration fees and donations going directly to support cancer research at Moffitt.
Local Science Fairs
The CBSO actively participates in local elementary and high school science fairs to serve as judges on the projects and efforts of young aspiring scientists.
Meet the Speaker
Each year, the CBSO and other members of the Moffitt Cancer Center will meet with several speakers. We actively recruit a scientists from around the country to come and give a lecture on their current research. The CBSO is given the opportunity to meet with the speaker to discuss anything from career advice to their current research. The CBSO has had the opportunity to meet with several famous scientists including Dr. James Watson, Dr. Bruce Ames, Dr. Tyler Jacks, and Dr. Charles Sawyers.
